Weiss Pediatric Care is proud to announce that we recently became part of an elite group of medical professionals to achieve the highest level of Patient Centered Medical Home recognition through the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA).
When we opened our doors a little over four years ago, we were determined to provide the highest quality of care for kids.
We planted our feet in the world of research and science. That means if we can’t give you the evidence-base to support what we’re doing, and why, then we shouldn’t be doing it! Whether it’s through our “Is Your Child Sick” app on our website’s homepage, or patient handouts on everything from influenza to insect bites, you never have to search Dr. Google again. Accurate and trustworthy evidence-based answers to medical questions are part of what we promise you when you’re a Weiss Pediatric Care family.
We purchased the latest technology to ensure that your children receive 21st century care. Cool kid-friendly gadgets and equipment aid us in earlier detection, accurate assessments, and effective treatment.
- Spotvision autorefraction screens for eye abnormalities in babies as young as 6 months of age;
- Spirometry accesses pulmonary function in children with asthma;
- Transcutaneous hemoglobinometer obtains blood levels without a painful finger stick;
- Cardio Check measures cholesterol levels without a trip to the lab for fasting bloodwork.
Beyond the science and technology that underlies high quality care, family-centered collaborative relationships are a top priority at Weiss Pediatric Care. We depend upon families to ask questions, offer insight, share their needs and preferences, and work with us to ensure optimal outcomes. Parents and kids are truly our partners as we strive to create healthy futures for all.
Quality care for kids is also compassionate. At Weiss Pediatric Care we recognize that many times when parents walk through our doors they’re worried about a sick child or are dealing with life stressors. We listen, we offer a peaceful setting, soothing music, a garden view, water, coffee and hugs too.
And we are accessible. During office hours, children are always seen the same day when sick, and after hours we are available by phone ‘round the clock, 7 days a week, for guidance and reassurance. No large after hours call groups either, where no one knows your child and you’ll probably never speak to the physician on call again. You always reach a member of the Weiss Pediatric Care clinical team who knows you and your children, and their medical history too.
The American Academy of Pediatrics says that every child deserves a medical home that is evidenced-based, accessible, compassionate, collaborative, family-centered and that coordinates all aspects of a child’s health care needs -medical, behavioral, developmental, and social/emotional.
Four years ago, Weiss Pediatric Care set out to provide the highest quality of care for kids and today we can say we’re doing just that! NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home Recognition is proof positive that we are truly walking the talk.
